Today I am going to tell you about Paul Mitchell’s Platinum Blonde Shampoo, which is one of the products I listed in my blog post, Best Tools And Products For Lightened Hair. It’s a purple-tinted shampoo, especially formulated to keep cool blonde or white hair looking beautiful and bright! The purple color of the shampoo counteracts the yellow (or warmth or brassiness) that you usually see in blonde hair, especially right after it is lightened or as the toner starts to fade out. Those of you who are familiar with the color wheel from art class will remember that lavender is directly across the wheel from yellow, and therefore cancels it out.
This is the shampoo that I personally use at home, and I prefer it to other purple shampoos that I have used because it lathers amazingly for even distribution, smells like it is something that I should be eating, and leaves my hair feeling soft and moisturized. It was reformulated a year or so ago, and I love the new formula so much more than the old one! I leave the shampoo in my hair for 5-10 minutes (this time can vary for different people) before rinsing it off. Rinsing with cool water is best, as it closes down your hair cuticle to help trap the color in, and makes your hair feel better as well. You also don’t have to use this every time you wash your hair. Personally, I do, because my hair yellows fast, but many of my clients only use it once a week or so, as needed.
You can purchase Paul Mitchell Platinum Blonde Shampoo from me online or at any salon that carries Paul Mitchell Products. A 10.14oz bottle retails for $12.95. Remember, professional product lines, including Paul Mitchell should ONLY be purchased from a salon or licensed hair stylist! You might see PM products at the grocery store or chain store, but those are black market products. They could be expired or contaminated with bacteria or mold. PM only sells their products to salons and licensed hairstylists. Get the real Paul Mitchell! See what the company has to say about diverted product.
Have you used the Platinum Blonde Shampoo? What do you think of it? We sell a lot of this at our salon; our clients love it!
